> THE ‘L’ Story

"The seeds of this new 'L' collection were planted by my eldest daughter Mosha. I made her the buttery soft Shawl Collar in black luxury kid leather for her birthday and hand-painted the initial 'L' inside on a whim. I hoped she would like it.

Mosha works in fashion and is very discerning. Thankfully, she loved the gift and, to my surprise, both her friend and my younger daughter Sophie wanted one too.

The excitement of my daughters' reaction gave me the encouragement to create a tightly-edited collection of pieces in my favourite materials: fur and leather. I have always designed for the people who wear my products—they motivate me and I don't want to lose that connection. The collection is only available through this site and at pop-up shops held at exclusive locations across the country. If you are interested in hosting a pop-up shop or would like more information, please contact us at designedbyll@gmail.com. We can discuss a private showing for a group in your home or other preferred location."

"In 2009, when I moved from Toronto to our home in the country, I felt inspired in all kinds of new ways. This collection draws on all the beautiful colours and textures of nature that surround me. The styles are things I personally long to wear (and do everyday). They're flattering, singular and easy. I’m excited to see how women wear them in their own unique ways."
